User guide
Everything you need to register, score, stream and watch matches on Tennis Star.
Getting started
- Open Account and sign up with your name, email, mobile and a password (6+ characters).
- Open Account β My profile and save your player details: date of birth, gender, city, state association, category and photo.
- You get a Tennis Star ID (like TS00000002). Share it so organisers can add you to matches quickly.
- Forgot your password? Tap βForgot password?β on the Sign in screen and open the email link.
Find players and follow them
- Open Players and search by name or Tennis Star ID. Filter by category (U12 to Open).
- Open a player to see all their matches, wins, losses and titles.
- Tap Follow to see their matches in Home β Following.
- Your own record is in Account β My stats.
Create a match
- Account β Create match.
- Choose singles or doubles, and the format: best of 1, 3 or 5 sets, games per set, tie-break and no-ad options.
- Add players by name or Tennis Star ID.
- The match gets a code (like TS-20BD). Anyone can search this code to watch.
Score a match live
- Open the match and tap Score.
- Tap the player who won each point. Games, sets, deuce, advantage and tie-breaks are counted automatically.
- Made a mistake? Use Undo. Wrong server or format? Use Edit match setup.
- Every point appears instantly for all viewers on the app and website.
- Use Pause live or Start/Resume live on the scoring screen, including after Change scorer. The filming phone must keep its live camera session open; these controls cannot open a closed camera remotely.
- When the match ends, tap Finish match to save the result and update both playersβ stats.
Go live with your phone camera
- Open the match and tap Go live. Allow camera and microphone. The camera opens in preview: nothing is broadcast yet.
- Fix the phone on a tripod or fence, sideways (landscape), behind the baseline. Adjust zoom and framing until the whole court is visible.
- When ready, tap βΆ Start live. Only then does the match go live and the YouTube video start. Tap β to close the preview without going live.
- Live video goes to our YouTube channel. The video is public and stays on the channel as a replay.
- Use the round buttons at the bottom (see βCamera buttonsβ below). Long-press any button to see its name.
- Keep the phone charged and the screen on. If the internet is weak, switch HD to SD.
Zoom to fit the court
- In the camera preview (before Start live) or while live, use β and + at the top-left to zoom in steps of 0.1.
- The camera starts at the widest view (0.5x on phones with an ultra-wide lens). Tap + until the court just fills the screen. Hold β or + to zoom faster.
- You can also pinch with two fingers on the camera picture.
Watch matches
- Open Live to see all matches being played now with their score.
- Open a match to watch the video and live scorecard. Tap Full screen and turn the phone sideways; the score stays at the bottom-left.
- Recorded replays have digital zoom up to 8x. Use + and - to enlarge, Left/Right/Up/Down to move around, and Reset to restore the whole picture and player controls. Zoom cannot recover missing detail or confirm an in/out line call.
- In the YouTube mobile app, open the recording full screen and pinch with two fingers to zoom. YouTube controls its own zoom limit; Tennis Star cannot change YouTube's desktop player.
- Tap the π bell on a match to get notified when it goes live.
- On YouTube or Google, search #TennisStarIndia or @Livetennisindia to find all our matches.
Tournaments
- Account β Create tournament. Add categories (U12, U14, U16, U18, Open; singles or doubles).
- Add entries and create the draw (knock-out bracket or round-robin).
- Matches from the draw can be scored and streamed like any other match; winners move to the next round.
- Open Events to see all tournaments and their draws.
Settings and updates
- Account β Appearance: light or dark theme.
- Account β Notifications: choose which alerts you receive.
- App updates arrive automatically. To get the newest version, close the app fully and open it again (twice).
